Mr & Mrs Potato Head

The daughter has turned 3 this past January. She is doing more and more and getting harder to entertain during the day. So I started doing some paper crafts with her after her nap in the afternoon. This one is a Mr and Mrs Potato Head that she glued their body parts on. I cut out the parts and let her glue away.

the one on the green paper is the Mr

                                                           Aren't they awesome!!

Sillyness

The Daughter is silly. After going through my pics I came across some that I really liked and they are all  her being her silly self. Here are my recent favorites.

Homemade Orange Wipes

I am obsessed with orange wipes but they are so expensive. So I made my own!  They cost me $1.00 as opposed to the nearly $5 in the store. Here is how you make them.

First you will  need a big sealed container. Big enough to stuff a roll of paper towels in after you unroll it. I can barely get all the roll in the container I have but after I pour in some solution it shrinks and I can stuff it all in. Also you will need a roll of select a size paper towels. That way you can rip off on small sheet for wiping off the counter or pull out a big gob of them (like for when you clean the outside of the toilet!)
Then you will need some good orange smelling floor mop or 4 in 1 cleaner that kills germs. In a 4 cup measureing cup measure 1/2 cup of the cleaner. I put in a smidgen more.

Then pour some warm water in until it reaches the 4 cup mark.
Now pour it over your paper towels stuffed in the container.
Wait a while for it to soak in.
                                                              Ta Da !!  Orange wipes!!!

How to Clean a Thermos

The husband has always taken a thermos of coffee to work. I wash it everyday but it still gets that buildup of black stuff on the inside. Every once in a while I have to attack it! This will  make it look brand new on the inside, I promise! The process is like a science experiment so gather up the kiddos and let them watch. You will need :

1 small bottle of hydrogen peroxide
1 cup of baking soda
boiling water

Rinse your thermos out, pour in the cup of baking soda, pour in the peroxide, then fill the rest of the thermos up with boiling water. Now watch the crazy cleaning action!

It will look like its boiling in there! It will fiz and pop and eventually it will bubble out the remains of the black film that was stuck on the inside. Its really gross!! If if stops bubbling you can pour a little more boiling water in and it will start it up again. It should take 15 minutes or so. Depends on how built up it is.

This is the remains of the black film!! Yuck!!!! Now just wash it out again and repeat the process if there is still some pieces hanging on in there. I should have taken before and after pics!
